ABOUT THE AUTHOR

International publication of four children's poems in 1981, for the total sum of $4.75, encouraged author Lois J. Funk to pursue a variety of other writing challenges. So, as poems and inspirational stories appeared in children’s church curriculum, 80+ poems, puzzles, and stories fell into the pages of Turtle, Children's Playmate, Jack 'n' Jill, Child Life, Children's Digest, and Humpty Dumpty's magazines (Children’s Better Health Institute) and her memories of childhood took shape in five chapbooks of nostalgic poetry, and, as her poetry and articles appeared in periodicals, books, and magazines such as Ideals and Teachers of Vision, she turned her attention to compiling nonfiction books of her own, all described on the following pages (just click on the book titles in the menu), and all available through Amazon, at www.amazon.com/author/loisjfunk; through the author; and locally, at The Kountry Nook, in Pekin, Illinois.

Funk was born and raised in central Illinois, U.S.A., but has traveled extensively outside the U.S. But her passion for writing lies in reminding others of the past, and she has enjoyed incorporating her memories of childhood and travel in her books.

Besides her own writings, Funk has edited and compiled a number of poetry books, documentaries, and anthologies for individuals and clubs. She is available for presentations, readings, and workshops.
